Kristian Thorn

Kristian Thorn serves as Deputy University Director at Aarhus University with the responsibility for the vice-directorate for Research and Talent, which supports strategy and policy development on issues pertaining to research, talent development and internationalization. He manages seven units responsible for administration tied to PhD education, pre- and post- award research support and the international mobility of students and researchers. Prior to his current position, he directed the university’s international office and was senior advisor to Denmark’s Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation. Mr. Thorn spent four years as Tertiary Education and Science & Technology Specialist at the World Bank. He has a background in political science from Aarhus University and holds certificates from the Executive Management Programme at INSEAD in France and the Institute for Management and Leadership in Education from Harvard University.
